No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends the Education Code as it relates to training requirements applicable to members of the governing board of a public institution of higher education. Under provisions of the bill, the Higher Education Coordinating Board must develop an intense short orientation course that a governing board member must complete before they vote at a meeting of the governing board. The bill includes specific criteria regarding the content of the orientation course. It is assumed any costs associated with the bill will be absorbed within current resources.
