SB1907 by Hegar (Relating to the transportation and storage of concealed handguns and ammunition by students in vehicles on the campuses of institutions of higher education.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to prohibit a public or private institution of higher education from adopting or enforcing any rule, regulation or other provision prohibiting individuals with a valid concealed handgun license attending the institution from storing a legal handgun in their locked vehicle while parked on campus.  It is assumed the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
