LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

ACTUARIAL IMPACT STATEMENT

83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 15, 2013

TO:
Honorable Bill Callegari, Chair, House Committee On Pensions

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB526 by Capriglione (Relating to the confidentiality of information held by a public retirement system.), As Introduced

HB 526 would amend the Government Code, Section 552.0038 by eliminating the discretionary authority of public retirement systems to determine whether a record is subject to the public information requirements as applicable to public retirement systems. The bill would also make technical revisions and amend language stating that if conflicts arise, the provisions of the section applicable to public retirement systems would prevail.

The bill, if enacted, will have no significant actuarial effect because it does not propose to change the funding or obligations of any public retirement system.
