83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 17, 2013

TO:
Honorable Bill Callegari, Chair, House Committee On Pensions

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1265 by Guillen (Relating to providing information to state employees about insurance available to those employees under a group coverage plan.), As Introduced

HB 1265 would amend the Insurance Code by adding Section 1551.2011 requiring the board of trustees of Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) to ensure that employees receive various coverage information if included under a group coverage plan as established under the Insurance Code.

The bill, if enacted, will not have an actuarial effect on any public retirement system because it does not propose to change their benefit structure, funding or obligations.
