Pursuant to a notice posted on August 22, 2014, the House Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pitts, at 10:15 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Pitts; Turner, Sylvester; Ashby; Bell; Bonnen, Greg; Crownover; Darby; Gonzales, Larry; Howard; Hughes; King, Susan; Márquez; Muñoz, Jr.; Orr; Otto; Patrick, Diane; Raney; and Zerwas.

A quorum was present.

The committee heard from a resource witness with the Legislative Budget Board.
