Pursuant to a notice posted on June 18, 2013, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Herrero, at 10:19 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Herrero; Carter; Burnam; Canales; Hughes; Leach; Moody; Schaefer; and Toth.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 23

 

The chair laid out SB 23 as pending business.

 

The chair explained SB 23.

 

Representative Hughes offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was withdrawn without objection.

 

Representative Hughes moved that SB 23, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Herrero; Carter; Hughes; Leach; Moody; Schaefer; Toth (7).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Burnam; Canales (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).
