Pursuant to a notice posted on July 24, 2014, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Herrero, at 10:06 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Herrero; Burnam; Canales; Hughes; Leach; and Moody.

A quorum was present.

The Chair delivered opening remarks and opened up public discussion for the posted agenda.

Interim Charge 2

The chair brought up interim charge 2, relating to the effectiveness of deferred adjudication and orders for non-disclosure.

The chair brought up interim charge 4, relating to mental health diagnosis among inmates in correctional facilities, and the relationship between co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use disorders and parole revocation.
