Pursuant to a notice posted on March 1, 2013, the House Committee on Federalism & Fiscal Responsibility, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Creighton, at 2:00 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Creighton; Burkett; Lucio III; Turner, Scott; and Walle.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

Chairman Creighton made opening remarks.

 

The Committee invited testimony on the subject of Federal Sequestration, its causes and the possible effects on the State of Texas, including the effects on education, the environment, Texas workers, defense, and the economy.

 

Testimony taken/registration recorded.  (See attached witness list.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

At 4:02 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
