Pursuant to a notice posted on September 25, 2014, the House Committee on Health Care Education & Training, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, Susan, at 9:45 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King, Susan; Bell; Clardy; Howard; and Moody.

(Representative Paddie now present.)

 

The Chair recognized the following members for opening comments: Representative Howard Representative Moody, Representative Coleman, Representative Bell, Representative Clardy, Representative Rodriguez and Representative Paddie.

 

The Chair read a statement from Representative Guerra who was not present.

 

The committee received recommendations and testimony on strategies and policies to strengthen the health care workforce in Texas.
