Pursuant to a notice posted on June 26, 2014, the House Committee on Pensions met in a public joint-hearing with Appropriations - S/C on Article III and was called to order by the chair, Representative Callegari, at 11:10 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Callegari; Alonzo; Frullo; King, Phil; and Stephenson.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The Chair laid out the interim charge relating to the affordability of health care for active public school employees, as well as to examine how premiums and out-of-pocket costs have increased over time and how these increases have affected employees and school districts, and make appropriate recommendations (a joint charge with the House Committee on Appropriations).

 

The Chair also laid out the interim charge relating to examining the immediate and long-term fiscal impact of the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) health care plan (TRS-Care) (a joint charge with the House Committee on Appropriations).

The interim charges were left pending without objection.

 

At 2:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
