Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 8, 2013, and permission granted on May 8, 2013, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pickett, at 3:31 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Pickett; Fletcher; Cortez; Dale; Kleinschmidt; Lavender; Sheets; and Simmons.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The chair directed that the minutes of the May 7, 2013 meeting upon final adjournment/recess of the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

SB 1907

 

The chair laid out SB 1907, companion to HB 1077.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Kleinschmidt moved that SB 1907, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Pickett; Fletcher; Dale; Kleinschmidt; Lavender; Sheets; Simmons (7).

 

Nays:                           Representative Cortez (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representative Flynn (1).

 

At 3:33 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
