Pursuant to a notice posted on June 5, 2013, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Pickett, at 11:20 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Pickett; Fletcher; Dale; Kleinschmidt; Lavender; Sheets; and Simmons.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

 

 


 

Representative Anderson and Representative Kacal were in attendance.

 

Testimony taken/registration recorded.  (See attached witness list.)

 

(Representative Flynn and Representative Cortez now present.)

 

Representative Simmons moved that the committee send a letter to FEMA requesting that they reconsider their decision not to provide additional public assistance to the governments and citizens of West, Texas as a result of the explosion that devastated the community in April.

 

The motion was adopted without objection.

 

At 12:30 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
