Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, May 13, 2013, in the E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM.

 

The chair laid out HCR 40 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator West, to explain the bill.

HCR 40 was left pending.

 

The clerk called the roll, there was a quorum present.

 

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 15, 2013, at 8:00 AM. SB 1648 was removed by the author.

 

Senator Uresti moved that the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 15, 2013, at 8:00 AM be certified. The motion carried with a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 3 absent, and 0 present not voting.

 

The chair laid out HCR 84 and recognized Senator Uresti, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. HCR 84 was left pending.

 

The chair laid out HCR 87 and recognized Senator Uresti, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. HCR 87 was left pending.

 

The chair laid out HCR 68 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Patrick, to explain the bill. HCR 68 was left pending.

 

The chair laid out HCR 1 and recognized Senator Uresti, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. Senator Uresti sent up a committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Uresti to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the house bill as engrossed. The committee substitute and HCR 1 were left pending.

 

The chair laid out HCR 96 and recognized Senator Uresti, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. HCR 96 was left pending.

 

There being no further business, at 9:10 AM Senator Eltife moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
