Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs & Homeland Security was held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Senator Estes's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 7:29 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business CSSB 1750 and recognized the author, Senator Uresti, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Uresti moved that SB 1750 do not pass but that CSSB 1750 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

Senator Uresti moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

 

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business CSSB 1427 and recognized the author, Senator Hinojosa, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1427 do not pass but that CSSB 1427 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

Senator Hinojosa moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Hegar moved that SB 1904 do not pass but that CSSB 1904 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 3 ayes, 1 nay, 1 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

There being no further business, at 7:37 PM Senator Estes moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
