Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Business & Commerce was held on Monday, May 20, 2013, at Senator Carona's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 7:50 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The posting rules, Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, were suspended to hear the following bill(s):

 

HB 1951


HCR 80

 

At 7:51 PM Senator Lucio, Jr. assumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out HB 1951 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Carona, to explain the bill.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Carona moved that HB 1951 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent.

 

The chair laid out HCR 80 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Carona, to explain the bill.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Carona moved that HCR 80 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.

 

At 7:55 PM Senator Carona resumed the chair.

 

There being no further business, at 7:56 PM Senator Carona moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
