Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations was held on Thursday, October 23, 2014, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 1:05 PM. The following business was transacted:

The chair made opening remarks.

The chair laid out the following interim committee charge:

Study the structure of county government and report on ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of county government operations.

At 3:27 PM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
