Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Hinojosa called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. The following business was transacted:

Senate Bill 1 was laid out as pending business.

Testimony was heard on Article VIII – Regulatory. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

At 10:57 AM Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after adjournment of the Senate. Without objection, it was so ordered.

At 1:02 PM the Committee reconvened. Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Testimony continued with the Department of Insurance.

Senator Williams resumed the chair.

Testimony continued on the Office of Public Insurance Counsel.

Testimony continued on the Office of Injured Employee Counsel.

Testimony continued on the Fire Protection Commission.

Senator Nelson assumed the chair.

Special Provisions relating to all Regulatory Agencies 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Public testimony was heard.

Testimony was closed on Article VIII.

Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 2:24 PM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed until 9:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Without objection, it was so ordered.
