The chair called the meeting to order at 8:02 AM. The clerk called roll. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The chair laid out workgroup recommendations for Article I. The Legislative Budget Board staff presented the decision document.
Senator Deuell moved that the recommendations for Article I be adopted. The motion carried with a record vote of 14 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
The chair laid out workgroup recommendations for Article IV. The Legislative Budget Board staff presented the decision document.
Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.
Senator Williams resumed the chair.
Senator Whitmire moved that the recommendations for Article IV be adopted. The motion carried with a record vote of 13 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.
The chair laid out workgroup recommendations for Article VIII. The Legislative Budget Board staff presented the decision document.
Senator Estes moved that the recommendations for Article VIII be adopted. The motion carried with a record vote of 14 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
The chair laid out workgroup recommendations for Article VII. The Legislative Budget Board staff presented the decision document.
Senator Hinojosa moved that the recommendations for Article VII be adopted. The motion carried with a record vote of 14 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
Senator Duncan submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on Article IV workgroup recommendations. Without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Seliger submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on Article IV workgroup recommendations. Without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Estes submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on Article I workgroup recommendations. Without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator West submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on Article VII and Article VIII workgroup recommendations. Without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Lucio submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on Article I, Article VII and Article VIII workgroup recommendations. Without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Zaffirini submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on Article IV workgroup recommendations. Without objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 9:48 AM Senator Williams moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
