Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Jurisprudence was held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Senator West's Desk.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:15 PM.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 774 and Senator Carona moved that SB 774 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.

Senator Carona moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 768 and Senator Carona moved adoption of the committee substitute.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Carona moved that SB 768 do not pass but that CSSB 768 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

Senator Carona moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 778 and Senator Carona moved adoption of the committee substitute.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Carona moved that SB 778 do not pass but that CSSB 778 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 1 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

Senator Carona moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business SCR 30 and Senator Rodriguez moved that the committee substitute be withdrawn.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Rodríguez sent up a new committee substitute and moved adoption of the new committee substitute.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Rodríguez moved that SCR 30 do not pass but that CSSCR 30 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

Senator Rodríguez moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 1:24 PM Senator West moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
