Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Redistricting, Select was held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, in the E1.004 (Capitol Extension Auditorium).

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM.
The clerk called roll. A quorum was present and the following business was transacted:
Senator Seliger moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
The chair then moved to enter the Senate State Affairs Committee official record from April 18th, 2013 into the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting official record. This included all testimony and documents from the April 18th hearing. Without objection, it was so ordered.
Representative Darby was present at the hearing.
The chair and members of the Committee gave opening remarks.
Senator West submitted a letter to Lt. Governor Dewhurst from members of the Senate into the official record.
At 9:33 AM Senator Uresti assumed the chair.
Senator Seliger then moved to adopt a three minute time limit on public testimony to better accommodate all those wishing to testify; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair laid out SB 1, SB 2, SB 3, and SB 4 and recognized the author, Senator Seliger, to explain all four of the bills.
Senator Davis was present at the hearing and made remarks.
The chair opened public testimony on SB 1, SB 2, SB 3, and SB 4. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. After all witnesses were heard, the chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair then moved that SB 1, SB 2, SB 3,and SB 4 be left pending.
There being no further business, at 11:19 AM Senator Uresti moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
