Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Redistricting, Select was held on Thursday, June 6, 2013, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:10 AM.
The clerk called roll. A quorum was present and the following business was transacted:
Senator Seliger moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on May 30, 2013; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator West and Senator Zaffirini submitted letters to the chair and members of the committee regarding their proposals on the location of future hearings.
At 9:19 AM Senator Uresti assumed the chair.
The chair laid out anew SB 1, SB 2, SB 3, and SB 4 and recognized the author, Senator Seliger, to explain all four of the bills.
The chair opened public testimony on SB 1, SB 2, SB 3, and SB 4. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. After all witnesses were heard, the chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair moved that SB 1, SB 2, SB 3,and SB 4 be left pending.
Senator West made remarks.
At 10:36 AM Senator Seliger resumed the chair.
There being no further business, at 10:37 AM Senator Seliger moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
