Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Transportation was held on Monday, June 23, 2014, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The Chair made brief introductory remarks.

 

The Committee heard updates from the following invited agencies:

 

Texas Department of Transportation

Texas Department of Motor Vehicles

Texas Department of Public Safety

 

The Committee heard invited and public testimony on the following Interim Charges:

 

·         Evaluate the Texas Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Planning Organization's progress on reducing congestion on the 100 Most Congested Roadway segments and make recommendations to advance the development of the remaining congestion relief projects.

·         Evaluate Comprehensive Development Agreements (CDA) and Design/Build project delivery methods and make recommendations for their future role in reducing congestion and continuing the state's economic growth.

All witnesses are shown on the attached list.

There being no further business, at 12:49 PM Senator Nichols moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
