Pursuant to Rule 1, Texas House Rules and pursuant to Rule 11.03, Texas Senate Rules, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Texas Lottery was held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

Representative John Kuempel called the meeting to order at 11:05 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

Senator Schwertner and Representative Kuempel shared presiding duties. 

 

Senator Schwertner and Representative Kuempel made opening remarks. 

 

Representative Kuempel presented the committee rules and moved adoption of the committee rules.  There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Representative Kuempel called invited testimony to discuss the Texas Lottery and Charitable Bingo.  See attached witness list. 

 

Representative Kuempel closed invited testimony.

There being no further business, at 2:45 PM Representative Kuempel moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
