The Senate Committee on Business and Commerce will convene at 8:00 a.m. on March 12, 2013, in room E1.016 of the Capitol Extension to take up the following bills for consideration as new business:

Relating to certain residential and other structures and mitigation of loss to those structures resulting from natural catastrophes; providing administrative and criminal penalties.

SB 311        Carona                 
Relating to the licensing and regulation of roofing contractors; authorizing a fee and providing penalties.

SB 410        Watson                 
Relating to the management and operation of certain municipally owned electric utilities.

SB 456        Rodríguez              
Relating to building code standards for new residential construction in the unincorporated area of a county.

SB 569        Carona                 
Relating to the examination requirements for an insurance adjuster license.

SB 581        Carona                 
Relating to procedures for securing the deposit of public funds.

SB 600        Davis                  
Relating to premium refunds for insurance rates found to be excessive or unfairly discriminatory; providing an administrative penalty.

SB 614        Lucio                  
Relating to an electric utility surcharge to assist owners of certain historic structures with electric bill payments and to promote energy conservation and efficiency.

SB 649        Rodríguez              
Relating to the exemption of certain property from seizure by creditors.

SB 697        Carona                 
Relating to the qualifications of certain nonresident individuals to hold a surplus lines agent license.

SB 698        Carona                 
Relating to the refund of unearned premium for a personal automobile or residential property insurance policy.

SB 723        Taylor                 
Relating to the location of certain public sales of real property.

SB 801        Carona                 
Relating to security deposit requirements for certain insurance companies.

SB 804        Carona                 
Relating to revising provisions in certain laws governing certain banks and trust companies in this state to conform to changes in terminology made by the Business Organizations Code.

SB 805        Carona                 
Relating to the regulation of banks, trust companies, and bank holding companies.

SB 839        Hancock                
Relating to the provision of insurance coverage for certain portable electronic devices.

SB 840        Hancock                
Relating to certain promotional practices not considered to be prohibited discrimination, rebates, or inducements in insurance.

SB 845        Carona                 
Relating to the use of e-mail and website technology by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

SB 847        Carona                 
Relating to business entities and associations.

SB 849        Carona                 
Relating to social purposes of a for-profit corporation and the consideration of social purposes and other interests by officers and directors of a for-profit corporation.

SB 851        Taylor                 
Relating to a claim filing period and contractual limitations period in certain property insurance policies.

SB 852        Taylor                 
Relating to electronic availability of certain property and casualty insurance forms.

At the Chair's discretion, the Committee may also consider any pending business;

Relating to the confidentiality of certain communications involving an ombudsman program established by an employer as an alternative dispute resolution service.

Relating to the sale of malt liquor, ale, and beer by the holder of a brewpub license.

Relating to the distribution of ale by certain brewers.

SB 517        Eltife | et al.        
Relating to the distribution of beer by certain manufacturers.

SB 518        Eltife | et al.        
Relating to the authority of certain brewers and manufacturers to sell beer and ale to ultimate consumers.

SB 639        Carona | et al.        
Relating to the manufacture, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages.

SB 673        Carona                 
Relating to the requirements for elevators, escalators, and related equipment; providing penalties.
