Amend Amendment No. 135 to CSHB 1 by Canales (page 187 of the prefiled amendments packet) by striking the text of the amendment and substituting the following:

Amend CSHB 1 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  In Article V of the bill, in the appropriations to the Department of Public Safety, reduce the general revenue funds appropriated for Strategy B.1.4, Extraordinary Operations (page V-34), by $250,000 for each year of the state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2017.

(2)  In Article IV of the bill, in the appropriations to the Supreme Court of Texas, increase the general revenue funds appropriated for Strategy B.1.1, Basic Civil Legal Services (page IV-1), by $250,000 for each year of the state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2017.

(3)  In Article IV of the bill, following the appropriations to the Supreme Court of Texas, on line 2 of Rider 9 (page IV-3), strike "$750,000" and substitute "$1,000,000".

(4)  In Article IV of the bill, following the appropriations to the Supreme Court of Texas, on line 6 of Rider 9 (page IV-3), strike "$1,500,000" and substitute "$1,750,000".

(5)  In Article IV of the bill, following the appropriations to the Supreme Court of Texas, on line 7 of Rider 9, strike "$500,000" and substitute "$750,000".

(6)  Adjust totals and methods of financing accordingly.
