Amend CSHB 1 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  Reduce the Article I appropriations from the general revenue fund to the Office of the Attorney General for Strategy A.1.1, Legal Services (page I-3), by the amount of $50,000 for each year of the state fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2015.

(2)  Following the Article I appropriations to the Office of the Attorney General, add the following appropriately numbered rider:

____.  Public School Finance Lawsuit. In addition to amounts otherwise appropriated by this Act, the amount of $50,000 is appropriated from the general revenue fund to the Office of the Attorney General for each year of the state fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2015, to strategize, mediate, and discuss settlement of the public school finance lawsuit filed against the state under the cause of action known as "The Texas Taxpayer & Student Fairness Coalition, et al.; Calhoun County ISD, et al.; Edgewood ISD; et al.; Fort Bend ISD, et al.; Texas Charter School Association, et al.; and Joyce Coleman, et al. v. Michael Williams, Commissioner of Education, in his official capacity; Glenn Hegar, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, in his official capacity; the Texas State Board of Education; and the Texas Education Agency".

(3)  Adjust the article totals and methods of financing accordingly.
