Amend Amendment No. 142 by Coleman to CSHB 1 (page 178 of the prefiled amendment packet) by striking the text below the recital to the amendment and substituting the following:

____. Health Science Center. Out of the funds appropriated to the University of Houston System pursuant to Section 111.31, Education Code, the University of Houston System may prescribe courses leading to customary degrees offered in American universities of the first rank, including, if appropriate, an initiative consolidating all health-related courses into one institution, and to the extent allowed by other law, may investigate the creation of a health science center.
