Amend CSHB 1 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  In Article V of the bill, in the appropriations to the Department of Public Safety, make a proportional reduction in each strategy under Goal B, Secure Border Region (page V-34), to reduce the Grand Total of the general revenue appropriations to the department by $50 million in the fiscal year ending August 31, 2016, and $50 million in the fiscal year ending August 31, 2017.

(2)  Add the following appropriately numbered rider under the Article V appropriations to the Department of Public Safety:

____.  Body Worn Cameras. In addition to the funds appropriated above, $50 million for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2016, and $50 million for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2017, are appropriated from the general revenue fund to the Department of Public Safety. The department shall allocate the money to local law enforcement agencies for the purposes of equipping officers with body worn cameras to record interactions with the public.

(3)  Adjust totals and methods of financing accordingly.
