Amend CSHB 1 (house committee report) by adding the following appropriately numbered rider in Article V of the bill after the appropriations to the Department of Public Safety:
____. Legislative Intent on Use of Temporarily Assigned Troopers. It is the intent of the legislature that a Department of Public Safety highway patrol trooper who is temporarily assigned border security enforcement responsibilities in the Texas-Mexico border region is not assigned the additional responsibility of enforcing personal or commercial traffic laws.
