Amend Amendment No. 272 by Capriglione to CSHB 1 (page 340, prefiled amendments packet) by striking the text of the amendment and substituting the following

Amend CSHB 1 as follows:

(1)  In Article XI, under the Article X items of appropriations (page XI-23), strike "State Auditor's Office Chief Innovation Officer Contingency $ -".

(2)  Under the Article XI items of appropriations (page XI-23), add the following appropriately numbered rider:

____. Contingent Rider: Legislative Budget Board's Chief Innovation Officer. (a) This rider is contingent on the passage and becoming law of HB 986, or similar legislation of the 84th Legislature, Regular Session, 2015, creating a chief innovation officer position for the Legislative Budget Board.

(b)  It is the intent of the legislature that, out of the money appropriated to the Legislative Budget Board under this Act, the board allocate for the state fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2015, an amount sufficient to create a chief innovation officer position for the board.
