Amend CSHB 1 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  Under the Article XI appropriations to the Department of State Health Services (page XI-5), add the following appropriately numbered rider:

____. Housing Facilities for Sexually Violent Predators. In addition to the amount appropriated under Article II to the Department of State Health Services for the Office of Violent Sex Offender Management for Strategy G.1.1 (page II-45), there is appropriated an additional amount of $10 million from the general revenue fund to the department for the Office of Violent Sex Offender Management for the state fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2015, for the purpose of purchasing, constructing, or renovating one or more facilities to house sexually violent predators committed under Chapter 841, Health and Safety Code. Money appropriated under this provision may be spent only if the Office of Violent Sex Offender Management is unable to secure an adequate lease for housing facilities sufficient to accommodate all committed persons the office intends to house during that fiscal biennium.

(2)  Adjust the article totals and methods of financing accordingly.
