Amend CSHB 1 (house committee printing) as follows:

(1)  Under the Article XI appropriations to the Texas Education Agency (page XI-7), add the following appropriately numbered provision:

____.  School Employees Uniform Group Health Coverage. The amount appropriated in Strategy A.1.3, Group Insurance-Public Education, under the appropriations for Retirement and Group Insurance (page III-221), is increased by the amount necessary to provide state assistance for public school employees uniform group health coverage as described by Section 1579.251, Insurance Code, in the amount of $1,800 for each state fiscal year of the state fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2015, for each covered employee.

(2)  Adjust the article totals and methods of financing accordingly.
