Amend CSHB 1 by adopting the following into Article XI:
____. Appropriations for Judicial Compensation. a. In addition to amounts appropriated elsewhere in Article IV, The Judiciary, an estimated amount of $9,810,922 each fiscal year is appropriated from general revenue to fund a five percent judicial pay increase and associated benefits costs for judicial offices and other court personnel linked to the salary of a district judge by statute. Funds appropriated in this section shall be allocated to each court or agency as appropriate.
Notwithstanding the annual salary for judicial officers specified in bill patterns for the courts and affected judicial agencies in the Schedule of Exempt Positions, the annual salaries for judicial officers and other court personnel linked to the salary of a district judge by statute are increased by this appropriation. The Comptroller of Public Accounts shall administer this section.
