Amend CSHB 11 by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering the remaining SECTIONS of the bill as appropriate:
SECTION ____. Subchapter A, Chapter 411, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 411.0166 to read as follows:
Sec. 411.0166. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT FOR COMMISSIONED OFFICERS. The department may not require a commissioned officer to live closer than 75 miles from the commissioned officer's assigned office measured in a direct line between the officer's residence and the officer's assigned office.
