SECTION ____. Section 2155.137, Government Code, is amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
(c) Notwithstanding any other law, the Department of Public Safety must use competitive bidding, whether formal or informal, in making an emergency purchase that exceeds $50,000.
