Amend CSHB 411 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 2, line 18, strike "A credit access business" and substitute "(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a credit access business".
(2) On page 2, between lines 23 and 24, insert the following:
(b) A credit access business or a representative of the business may make a telemarketing call to a consumer who is or has been a party to a contract with the business if the call is made during the term of the contract or before the first anniversary of the date on which the contract was terminated, unless a consumer who is no longer under contract with the business requests that the business or representative stop calling the consumer.
