Amend CSHB 1491 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 1, lines 12 and 13, strike "and (6)" and substitute, ", (6), (7), and (8)".
(2) On page 2, between lines 15 and 16, insert the following:
(7) "Information service" has the meaning assigned by 47 U.S.C. Section 153.
(8) "Interactive computer service" has the meaning assigned by 47 U.S.C. Section 230(f).
(3) On page 2, line 19, strike "This" and substitute "Subject to Subsection (a-1) and except as provided by Subsection (b), this [This]".
(4) On page 3, between lines 17 and 18, insert the following:
(a-1) To the extent allowed under federal law, a business entity that is a provider of information services or interactive computer services is subject to this chapter.
