Amend CSHB 1690 (house committee printing) on page 4, by striking lines 7-18 and substituting the following:
Sec. 41.357. VENUE. Notwithstanding Chapter 13, Code of Criminal Procedure, or any other law, venue for a prosecution under this subchapter is:
(1) the county in which the conduct constituting an offense against public administration occurred;
(2) if Subdivision (1) does not apply, the county of the defendant's residence at the time the offense was committed if the defendant is a natural person; or
(3) if Subdivisions (1) and (2) do not apply, Travis County.
