Amend CSHB 1690 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 4, line 11, between "resides" and ".", insert "or the county in which the conduct constituting the offense against public administration occurred".
(2) On page 4, strike lines 12-18 and substitute the following:
(b) If the defendant holds an office of the executive branch subject to a residency requirement under Article IV, Texas Constitution, venue for a prosecution under this subchapter is:
(1) the county in which the defendant resided at the time the defendant was elected to that office or another office of the executive branch subject to that requirement that the defendant held immediately before being elected to the office being held by the defendant; or
(2) the county in which the conduct constituting the offense against public administration occurred.
