Amend HB 2291 (house committee printing) by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:
SECTION ____. Section 508.145, Government Code, is amended by adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows:
(e-1) An inmate serving a sentence for an offense under Section 43.26, Penal Code, is not eligible for release on parole until the inmate's actual calendar time served, without consideration of good conduct time, equals one-half of the inmate's sentence.
