AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Currently, up to 10 percent of educator candidates in educator certification programs may have a grade point average (GPA) below the set minimum. H.B. 1300 would require applicants to educator certification programs who have a GPA below the set minimum to take and pass the state-mandated content examination before being admitted to an educator certification program.
H.B. 1300 amends current law relating to eligibility requirements for admission of certain persons to educator preparation programs.
