AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Interested parties note that while Fisher County holds the majority of its local elections in November, the directors election for the Fisher County Hospital District is held in May. The parties assert that moving the directors election to November would result in cost and time savings for the county. H.B. 3513 seeks to address this issue.

H.B. 3513 amends current law relating to the Fisher County Hospital District.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Amends Section 1027.051(c), Special District Local Laws Code, to require that an election be held on the uniform election date in November of each year, rather than May of each year, to elect the appropriate number of directors (relating to a member of the board of directors of the Fisher County Hospital District).

SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2015.
