Special Purpose Districts

Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 111 (district) was created by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in 2006 and encompasses an area of land within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Conroe.  The land located within the district is being developed for single-family residential and commercial uses; therefore, road improvements are needed to serve the area. S.B. 2002 authorizes the district to provide for the construction, maintenance, and operation of roads and the issuance of bonds for road purposes, subject to approval by an election of the qualified voters in the district

S.B. 2002 amends current law relating to the powers and duties of the Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 111 and provides authority to issue bonds and impose fees and taxes.
