A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the use of the Texas Enterprise Fund for veterans |
|
hospitals. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 481.078, Government Code, is amended by |
|
amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (d-2) to read as |
|
follows: |
|
(c) Except as provided by Subsections (d), [and] (d-1), and |
|
(d-2), the fund may be used only for economic development, |
|
infrastructure development, community development, job training |
|
programs, and business incentives. |
|
(d-2) The fund may be used for the establishment, |
|
maintenance, or operation of veterans hospitals in this state. |
|
Subsections (e-1), (f), (f-1), (f-2), (g), (h), (h-1), (i), and (j) |
|
and Section 481.080 do not apply to a grant awarded for a purpose |
|
specified by this subsection. |
|
SECTION 2. Section 481.079(a-1), Government Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
(a-1) For grants awarded for a purpose specified by Section |
|
481.078(d-1) or (d-2), the report must include only the amount and |
|
purpose of each grant. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
