A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certain legislative deadlines. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 322, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding new Section 322.025 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 322.025 LEGISLATIVE PRIORITY DEADLINES. |
|
|
(a) On or |
|
|
before the 100th legislative day, the legislature shall send to the |
|
|
Governor: |
|
|
(1) the General Appropriations Act; |
|
|
(2) any legislation reauthorizing a state agency under |
|
|
review by the sunset advisory commission; or |
|
|
(3) any legislation concerning public school finance |
|
|
that is respondent to a court order of invalidity or |
|
|
unconstitutionality. |
|
|
(b) After the 100th legislative day, no legislation shall be |
|
|
considered by either chamber of the legislature until the |
|
|
legislation described by subsection (a) has been sent to the |
|
|
Governor. |
