A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the availability of information from the federal |
|
|
Election Assistance Commission on the secretary of state's Internet |
|
|
website. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 31, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 31.013 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 31.013. AVAILABILITY OF FEDERALLY DERIVED INFORMATION |
|
|
REGARDING VOTER REGISTRATION. The secretary of state shall compile |
|
|
by county and post on the secretary's Internet website, in a |
|
|
searchable format, data derived from the information regarding |
|
|
voter registration reported by the Election Assistance Commission |
|
|
to Congress. The secretary of state shall adopt rules to implement |
|
|
this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
