A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to medical assistance reimbursement for certain health |
|
|
care services provided by a chiropractor. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (kk) to read as follows: |
|
|
(kk) The department shall provide medical assistance |
|
|
reimbursement to a chiropractor participating in the medical |
|
|
assistance program for the provision of a health care service to a |
|
|
recipient of medical assistance if: |
|
|
(1) the chiropractor is licensed to practice |
|
|
chiropractic in this state; |
|
|
(2) the chiropractor is authorized to provide the |
|
|
service as part of the practice of chiropractic; and |
|
|
(3) the service is otherwise covered under the medical |
|
|
assistance program. |
|
|
SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act |
|
|
a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a |
|
|
federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision, |
|
|
the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or |
|
|
authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the |
|
|
waiver or authorization is granted. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
