A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the director and assistant director of the Texas |
|
|
Military Preparedness Commission. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 436.057, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsections (a-1), (b), and (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) The commission shall, subject to approval of the |
|
|
governor, hire an assistant director to assist the director in the |
|
|
performance of the administrative duties of the commission. |
|
|
(b) The commission, in hiring the director and the assistant |
|
|
director, shall consider applicants who have significant and |
|
|
extensive experience and knowledge relating to military |
|
|
installation operations, the defense industry, and the United |
|
|
States Department of Defense, including retired senior military |
|
|
officers from any branch of the armed forces of the United States. |
|
|
(d) The director may not hold another position in the office |
|
|
of the governor. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
