A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the director and assistant director of the Texas
  Military Preparedness Commission.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 436.057, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsections (a-1), (b), and (d) to read as follows:
         (a-1)  The commission shall hire an assistant director to
  assist the director in the performance of the administrative duties
  of the commission.
         (b)  Either the director or the assistant director must be
  recently retired from the armed forces with a rank of colonel or
  above in the army, marines, or air force or captain or above in the
  navy or coast guard. 
         (d)  The director may not hold another position in the office
  of the governor.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
