A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a requirement that each state university's Internet |
|
website include a link to certain employment data. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 51, Education Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 51.9746 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 51.9746. INTERNET ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT DATA. (a) In |
|
this section, "general academic teaching institution" and "public |
|
state college" have the meanings assigned by Section 61.003. |
|
(b) Each general academic teaching institution other than a |
|
public state college shall maintain in a prominent location on the |
|
institution's Internet website a link to the Texas Consumer |
|
Resource for Education and Workforce Statistics ("Texas CREWS") |
|
report on gainful employment applicable to the institution for the |
|
most recent year for which that report is available. |
|
SECTION 2. Each general academic teaching institution other |
|
than a public state college shall comply with Section 51.9746, |
|
Education Code, as added by this Act, as soon as practicable |
|
following the effective date of this Act, but not later than |
|
February 1, 2016. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
